The Joy of Life Saving

(The African migrants are now patrolling the Henley Beach area under the Surf Life Saving Program recently introduced in South Australia. The program is aimed at educating the new arrivals on beach safety.)

they bounce back
from the brink of hunger and despair
taming the tempest…
saving the lost souls of the realm
on the fatal shore

behold the frisky moon
in a passionate dance of wonder
rhythm of the waves

how precious is
the moment when the divine
hand of friendship
saves the day; rescuing the tired
limbs from the edge of the abyss

goodwill
flowers in silence
this fateful day

yet, like the guardian
angels of the surf, they embrace
the silver sea with
great passion; celebrating the inner
joy of life sublime
