Days of Longing

it’s a rough and tumble
time
on the
long road
to utopia
yet, i seize the day with gusto
as my luck shines
like the sparkling sapphire of the realm
like the star
in a cloudless night’s sky
feeding my longing
i sense your presence
pure
and true
as my heart beats
on a diet of invisible text
messages across
the endless universe of cells
you anoint
my body
with the sweet fragrance
of ambition
garnished with
the sublime fragments
of light
in a complex
new world
of desire
that colours my dreams
ushering in
the springtime of my life
