Tenderfoot on the Move

behold the sublime image
of the tenderfoot
in the exotic landscape
of hope
carrying the colourful dreams of life
like the rosebud
in my father’s garden

i discover the inner
beauty of the migrant soul
struggling for survival
in the divine comedy
of this painful life under the sun

you emerge from the
cloud of dust with a burst of energy
singing
like the rainbow lorikeet of Oz
sailing through the naked solitude
of antipodean sea

poetry blossoms
in earnest
dancing with my shadow

you find solace in
the secret places of the heart
this blissful night

you mend the broken hearts
with the divine fragrance of wonder
sowing
the seeds of love
before the first light of dawn
