Light of My Heart

you are the visible light
that shines through my being
decorating
my orbit with the golden petals of wonder
under
the blossoming
sky

you are the light waves
of desire
my hottie
muse of time
sowing the divine seeds of joy
in the secret places
of the heart

now i see nothing
so beautiful
and nothing so colourful
as the naked light
of reason
in the
electromagnetic
spectrum of the moment

and through you, my beloved
i have seen
the light
of lights in my heart
the big bang of desire
in the
moist hour

you are the sublime gift of sight
the ravishing light
of destiny
energising my
hungry soul
reflecting on this ship of dreams
as time begins anew

Child of Promise

you capture the moment
with gusto
turning the corner in life’s endless journey
and waltzing with the waves
as the rainbow (bathed in colourful light) snakes
its way through
the dreamscape of wonder
like a soul looking for love
in the imagined
universe of desire

at dawn, you sow the seeds
of destiny
sharing the joyful news
from the Oil Rivers province of time
where a new star was born and
where the guardian angel
sings
with lips
of glory

you turn your anger
into the creative force of nature
the source
of wealth and love
and compassion for many

like the little drummer boy
you grow from innocence
to experience (the naked reality of living
in the city of light)
finding your way to the true north
of your being
free from the winter’s
deadly storm
that shakes
the inner
blossom of the soul

i find the traces of you
in the first light of dawn
moulding joy
and laughter
with the divine metaphors of desire
and finding the truth
in the priceless moment
of clarity
in the oasis
of time
oh what a pleasure it is
to gaze upon
your sublime beauty
as your essence shines through my veins
like this jewel of the Nile
like the restless love particles on heat
like the blooming slice
of heaven for the gentle soul:
a wealth
of sweet wonders
in the desert of despair
awakening
the
muse
the golden grain
of thought
inside me

a warm day in Findon
the kangaroo paw blossoms under
the darkening sky

high hopes on the road
to utopia
a journey of transcendence

i walk proudly
like Nefertiti’s kitten
weaving dreams

full moon in the ‘hood:
you dance like a soul possessed
feeding my longing

scent of the eucalyptus
the koala dreams
of home in the heart of spring

i taste your divine nectar
with lips of fire…
rapture in the final frontier

now on the wings of wisdom -
i crack the secret
code of life before the cock crows

Scented Leaves

like the fine dust
of the immortal soul
you plod along
the luminous landscape of time
sowing the divine
seeds of heaven
in full view of Venus
and the exploding stars
of the baby universe

and over the rainbow
the inner core of being unveils
her mysteries as you moan
and groan
in ecstasy
spreading like an edible cloud
in all its glory
as the night shines like the day

the naked thunder roars
when the luscious moon captures
the moment
in my secret garden
as the scented leaves flower
into spring bloom
feeding the flame
of desire
at the crack of dawn

your smile blossoms
on my pillow; shining
like the light of a thousand moons
nourishing
my body and soul
like this drop of honey
on my hungry lips

The Dreaming Sky

it’s a long journey
to the realm of dreams
where the spring
water flows
with vivid colours
of the rainbow

yet, the cricket
does not sing
there is nothing
in the periphery of society for those in need
under the dreaming sky
there is absolutely nothing but the voice of compassion
the gentle waves of heaven
as the earth moves

the restless struggle
for survival
continues unabated
even as the moon
glows in silence
showering me
with the divine blossoms
this ancient night

hunger raises its
ugly head despite all these
loaves and fishes

poverty sweeps across
the dreamscape of promise
like the chill wind
from the Snowy Mountain
bathing
the young lives
in bitter tears
and pricking the moral
conscience of the nation

The Cold Wind of Change

behold a new migrant
from the oasis of ancient
delights; limping along
the fatal shore
like the lost boy in the shadows of life
searching for solace

you are a child of great promise
a wonderful soul
in the process of becoming
eking out a meagre living
with a deep feeling
of emptiness as the earth listens

you battle
the cold wind of change
on the long and winding
path of destiny
miraculously breaking
the back of adversity
as the light shines upon you

like a player in the cyber theatre
of our time, you put the
finer details of your journey
in the public domain
sharing the moon…
sacrificing your soul
in the magical world of endless selfie
dancing like the desert rose
in the temple of narcissus

now, you grow by leaps and bounds
as hope blossoms in earnest
and as the rainbow lorikeet sings
in the first light of dawn
you rise like the Sphinx
in the spaces between dreams
