The Son of the Mighty Nile

he breaks through the cloud
like the wandering star of the dreamtime;
seeking refuge; walking along the golden sands of time sublime
(with nothing but a pocket full of hope)
this desperate son of the mighty Nile; this refugee from
the divine cradle of light, whose blissful tongue foretold
a brand new dawn guided by faith…
i watch as he picks up the stimulating fragments
of life on the fatal shore under
the sensitive nose of destiny;
drinking a cupful of desire in the summer’s lazy daze;
taking the first step to freedom with tender foot
and, now, with a glowing skin of perfection
he dances like an angel before my naked eyes
