The Arrival of Julie Shaka

Julie Shaka arrives in the festival city with tears of joy in her eyes, as new love blossoms in earnest. Now, she sits like Nefertiti’s kitten; counting her blessings. She is stylish and elegant, a refugee from way back, a child of poverty and tragedy, who holds the early light of dawn in her delicate hands.

Her infectious smile captures the moment as she glides along the dreamtime passage with gusto; storming the citadel of learning, one day in spring.

she sits under
the golden wings of progress
petals of hope

Meanwhile, Julie reflects upon her life-long struggle for survival, her epic journey to the ancient Land of Oz, and the endless search for freedom with an openness that cuts through my humble heart.

she sings my name
with flaming lips of wonder…
frisky moon

And now, as the earth moves in wonderful ways; bending the wandering beam of light, Julie reads the divine stanza of life with limpid eyes; finding her inner beauty; savouring the special moment of desire.

she feeds the hungry
atoms along the scented lane
nourishing my soul

Julie sounds like a blessing to those who come in contact with her. She certainly inspired you to write a beautiful poem about her inner beauty.
