Heart of Dreams

still largely unseen by the naked eye
creative thoughts blossom
like the red roses
in the fecund garden
of the African Diaspora
as dreams drip
with honey
i walk into the realm
like the son of promise
in the moment of clarity
moving from one state of being
to another
yet, even with the daily struggle
for survival
in this heart of dreams
under the darkening cloud
there is an emerging synthesis at work
a strong sense of the self
and resilient
in the face of adversity
i watch as new ideas glow
like diamonds in the sky
revealing the human condition
i weave together
the unresolved questions
of the past, present and future
the fundamental questions that give
birth to the new dawn of awareness
on the long road to Utopia
