the autumn leaf
withers
and dies
on the fatal shore
mercifully
losing its spark and colour
in splendid isolation
yet overwhelmed by
the fragrant light
in the moist hour
my love for you blossoms in earnest
like this
jacaranda in my visual field
thriving
in the sparkling
universe of wonder
a universe of colour and beauty
