Suns of Diaspora

you ride the cosmos
in search of the summer bliss
finding redemption
and solace
in the African Diaspora:
a home away from home
a paradise
of ambition
and compassion
where the human condition
is at play

dressed in compassion
you shine like the petals of glory
like the suns of Diaspora
like this poetry in my heart
finding the lustful muse
in the hemisphere of coolness

you transform the young lives
in the imagined community of dreams
feeding the hungry souls
as the bright new day dawns
you bless the realm with rivers of honey

and as time dances in the wind
i become the true witness
of your divine blessings
the fruit of your glowing light of lights
in the greatest hour of need

i taste your
naked beauty sublime
fated for love
in the Diaspora of the heart
